About 90 minutes southeast of Atlanta, Lake Sinclair is bordered on the south by Milledgeville and the north by it’s cousin, Lake Oconee. While Lake Sinclair is primarily in Putman county, it stretches through Baldwin and Hancock counties.

What Makes Lake Sinclair Unique

  • Lake Sinclair boasts almost 500 miles of scenic shoreline and covers over 15,000 acres.
  • The lake is the site of several fishing tournaments—both local and national—and attracts fishermen of various skill levels and interest.
  • Several creeks and rivers feed Lake Sinclair, including Beaver Dam, Crooked, Rooty, Sandy Run, Shoulder Bone, Potato, Island, Rocky, Nancy Branch, Reedy Branch, and Little River.
  • Milledgeville is the lake’s largest town, and was the capital of Georgia from 1804-1868.
  • Author Flannery O’Connor lived in Milledgeville, and her home, Andalusia, is now a museum open to the public.
